Since the reform and opening up, due to the transformation of economic and social structures in China, Tennis has been developed vigorously. After the success of 2012 Olympic Games in London and 2013 National Games in China, many excellent Tennis players in Sichuan Provincial Tennis team faced with career changes. This essay takes research summary method, questionnaires, expert interviews, mathematic statistics, logic analysis and social researches to analyze the current reality of Tennis players’ career changes. It looks into the challenges and causes happened to the Tennis players in Sichuan. In addition, this paper proposes some solutions to help those players to transit smoothly during the changing period and adapt to new working lives.The research shows: as fast development of service industry in China, the retired Tennis players have a large potential in their career growth. However, there are a few reasons that reemployment of retired Tennis players still depends on relocation from organizations in traditional ways: First, due to incomplete sports players’ training structure, the players are lack of sufficient education and other skills. Second, lack of complete and practical career plan systems for Tennis players cannot guarantee their sustainable development after retirement. Third, not enough professional instructors to direct Tennis players’ career transitions after retiring leads to Tennis players’ unbalanced psychology in Sichuan and twisted working value.They act passively in career changes after retiring. Last, sports players’ career transits program lacks enough investment, which leads to the difficulties and uncertainties of their smooth career transits.This paper proposes following solutions and relevant measures on the problem of career changes of Tennis players in Sichuan Province. First, make a good use of functions of different NGOs. Second, improve Tennis players’ comprehensive qualities and competitiveness by changing traditional knowledge learning patterns. Third, guide the players to plan their career paths in advance, improve their initiatives facing with career changes. Fourth, develop Tennis clubs and promote Tennis clubs league systems. At last, encourage them to choose different professions which are suitable for them through thorough understanding of industrial features and external environment.
