The administration of instructional time of English in senior middle school has been a heart-concerned problem for many middle school teachers. We spare great effort to reform the education to improve the quality of education. Effectiv-ely controlling the instructional time, ensuring the completion of the teaching tasks and students’interests and inspiration and improving the development of their self-learning gradually become the difficult point of the senior middle school teaching.Nowadays,we still adopt the traditional teacher-centered teaching model.In this kind of model,the teacher leads the whole class,strictly controls the class time and the teaching process. While the students are used to this kind of situation that the teacher spare no effort to make sure the students clear and the students just listen and make notes.If the teacher is full of passion,the students can concentrate on the teacher for a long time and learn more,if not,others things will draw their attraction. In this way,it is impossible for a teacher to finish his or her teaching tasks no matter how well he or she controls the time.However,the students-centered teaching model lead by the self-learning concept can work out these problems smoothly.In this model,students are the main body,while the teacher plays the role of indirect controller and assistant.The teacher arranges the teaching time and gives the students corresponding tasks according to the teaching process and the students changing abilities.And the students learn the knowledge through searching the information and practicing,then they will have a chance to show themselves in the class.In this process,the students acquire the sense of achievement and confidence,hence their leaning efficiency improve a lot.But if the teachers couldn’t control the time,it is easily for the class fall into mess,hence it delay the courses.After observation this passage describe two English teachers’ cases about the administration of instructional time,who are from two different schools and analyze the relationship between self-leaning and instructional time administration.Through searching data,it advocates student-centered learning model,and put forward some strategies to the potential problems. The whole passage contains five parts,including introduction,chapter one,chapter two,chapt-er three and the peroration.
