With the deepening of the new mathematics curriculum reform, an important way of learning, much attention has been paid to cooperative learning. As is known to all, mathematics is a rigor, logic is very strong discipline, so it can provide the application of cooperative learning in the elementary school mathematics teaching with a broader space. Cooperative learning used properly, can accelerate the overall teaching results, better implementation of the curriculum. Therefore, analyzing the related issues of cooperative learning group, the full implementation of the application of cooperative learning in the elementary school mathematics teaching, is of vital significance.Group work in order to better promote the all-round development of students, cultivate the students’ ability to communicate and complement each other in the process of communication, it is more important to cultivate students the spirit of cooperation between in the cooperation, develop the students’ team consciousness, let the students know the importance of the collective, is beneficial to train students’ correct competition consciousness and ability, through collaboration and communication between the team members at the same time, achieve the goal of every student get development, also students adapt to the needs of the development of the future society. Cooperative learning group does have its advantages, but due to the limitation of many factors, cooperative learning in primary school teaching in class and didn’t realize the maximization of the advantages of it.This paper uses literature research, investigation research method, action research method, comparative method and experience summary method, to parse the elementary school mathematics classroom cooperative learning. Through the analysis of the problems of cooperative learning research results at home and abroad, to have a deeper understanding of cooperative learning. Using questionnaire survey data statistics analysis of the teachers and students, raises many outstanding problems that exist in the elementary school mathematics classroom learning. Was not well prepared before class, cooperative learning, for example, the lack of effectiveness of cooperative learning, cooperative learning tend to be more formal, evaluation mechanism is not sound, classroom cooperative learning organization chaos, etc, from the Angle of the teachers and students, and analyzed the causes of the problems, and presents corresponding countermeasures.
