With the rapid development of computer science, communication technology, network technology and remote sensing, the information technology have been applied successfully in various fields. Meanwhile the education has already been influenced intensively in recent years. Nowadays, multimedia technology and digital planet have already been widely applied in geographical teaching in high school. Currently, the micro curriculum–based teaching model is walking into classes in high school. The micro curriculum teaching model has been applied in different subjects in high school, but it is rarely employed in geographical teaching in high school. To keep pace with times and achieve the better teaching effectiveness, it is inevitable that micro curriculum and geography will be coalesced in high school in the future.The students’ various abilities will be taken exercise in geography in high school, such as observation and analysis ability, interpret the images and thinking ability, spatial imagination ability and etc. Therefore it is necessary to comprehend the contents of textbook of this subject so that the students’ ability will enhance. It is propitious to memory and understanding of the knowledge, and the ability has been improved when the micro curriculum teaching model is used in geography.This dissertation discusses the problem of applying the micro curriculum teaching model to geographical teaching in high school. Firstly, the characteristics of geography in high school are clear and definite. Then the study goal is confirmed by selecting the teaching contents of micro curriculum according to the characteristics. Last, to assure the hardware device used by micro curriculum, the use of Intenet and mobile device are investigated by questionnaire survey. This dissertation works a video based on the teaching contents in first class in first section in chapter 4 of geography for senior high school student published by Renjiao Co. Before class, the study assignment, class activity and study cases are designed. We conduct this experiment on two classes and the other two classes are taught by traditional model. Based on the experimental results of comparison of class activity and the accuracy of exercise, the feasibility of applying the micro curriculum teaching model to geographical teaching in high school is discussed.
