A Study On The Contribution Rate Of Higher Vocational Education To Economic Growth In Jiangsu Province

As an important part of the education system in China, vocational education serves the development of economic and social, the training of technical skills for high quality workers. It is a significant foundation of the national economic and social development. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party, China’s vocational education will become an important focus of education reform It has made a series of vocational education policies, and measures to the development of vocational education. As an important part of vocational education, higher vocational education should be the focus of the vocational education reform and development.As a big and strong province of education, it’s very important for the development of higher vocational education of Jiangsu province to seize the opportunity of development and implement reform. However, how to seize the opportunity of development and how to reform, these two questions are inseparable from the study of higher vocational education and its contribution to local economic growth. Based on these situations, this research analyzes firstly the situation development, the investment situation, and fund sources of higher vocational education and the current situation of the economic growth in Jiangsu province. We find out that the problems existing in the development of higher vocational education and the characteristics of the economic development of Jiangsu. Secondly, through empirical study we quantify the contribution rate of higher vocational education to economic growth in Jiangsu province by Denison econometric model, which is 2.31%. Finally, based on the above analysis, we put forward the corresponding suggestions and countermeasures for the future development of higher vocational education in Jiangsu province:To perfect the higher vocational education system and related laws and regulations in order to ensure its status and operation order; to enhance investment of education funding and to encourage social strength investment; to improve the market mechanism and give full play to the role of industry in the higher vocational education; to set up vocational education group and to promote vocational education collectivization school-running; to speed up the development of higher vocational education and innovate the personnel training mode to service the development of local industry.
