With the development of political, economic and cultural, China significantly improves the awareness of integration into the international community’s. the capability of strategizing on the world stage and self-international status is also increasing. In this context, through the organization of important international competition and other events, Chinese Government sat all levels further integrated into the international community, and at mean time the whole country’s image including individual cities were significantly enhanced, the comprehensive national strength therefore was able to show and spread around the world. Image ad photo as an efficient, borders, across time and space limitations media, well make up the shortcoming of the text spread with the poor intuitive and weak scene, it improved the demands of communication strategy mentioned above a lot. A city willing to spend a lot of manpower, material and financial resources for the Olympics was in order to enhance the city’s image and expand visibility of the city through a focus effect from Olympic Games.This paper, through the study of "2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic image communication", aimed to develop a comprehensive analysis and evaluation on the basic perspective of strategic and tactical from Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic picture. With the combination between the consolidation of the relevant literature, summarize and the whole experience of author participating in the Youth Olympic which including the interviews to the Youth Olympic-related photography and photographer team, this Paper integrated photo transitions strategy of the big sport competition event and city image communication under one framework to provide reference for future large-scale events picture spread.This paper thinks that under the whole media age, the picture as a carrier medium is playing an increasingly important role. It is more and more irreplaceable in the dissemination of major sports events and cultural transfer process with advantage characteristic of easy to obtain, informative, giving the audience a visual experience.
