Chinese public class, as a special kind of teaching practice, has become an unavoidabletopic in the field of language education.First-line teachers and education experts have voiceddifferent opinions at the existing problems of the Chinese public class. Although many scholarshold critical attitudes toward the current situation of Chinese public class, there is no denyingthat it will still play an irreplaceable role as a platform for teachers’ research and communication.Teacher, whose professional development is related to the quality of teaching and the boost ofeducation reform, is the key factor in education teaching activities. Chinese public class acts as acatalyst for promoting teachers’ professional development. Study on the effect of Chinese publicclass on teachers’professional development can reacquaint the value of the Chinese public class,find the characteristics and law of its effect, promote the sustainable and healthy development ofChinese public class, and enrich the theory of teachers’professional development.This article first to the Chinese public class and the literature of teacher’s professionaldevelopment for the arrangement of the system. On the basis of forefathers’ research, the authorcarries on case investigation and research by going deep into the teaching frontline and usesinterviews and observation method to collect the detailed information. Then, the thesis embarksfrom the Chinese public class, makes the teachers’ professional development as a breakthroughpoint and bases on materials, such as teachers’ teaching experience, stories and cases etc. toexplore the Chinese public class’s influence on teachers’ professional development by using thecase method. The author tries to present the effect of the whole process of Chinese public classon teachers from the lesson preparation stage to the lesson reflection stage and to excavate therole of the public class plays on each aspect of teachers’ professional development, so as todemonstrate the real value of the Chinese public class systematically and thoroughly, and explorethe best way of Chinese teachers’ professional development.Through the study of the thesis, it can be seen clearly that the Chinese public class has aprofound influence on the professional development of teachers with different qualifications.Public class is the key event for senior teachers to grow into great teachers and it is the platformfor the backbone teachers to challenge themselves and show their best. Public class is also thebest opportunity for junior teachers to improve themselves. Both the lesson preparation stage andthe reflection stage can prompt teachers to inspire the thirst for knowledge, improve their knowledge structure, and facilitate the development of teachers’ professional skills andprofessional self-development consciousness.Teachers’ professional development needs both intrinsic motivation and external drivenfactors. Chinese public class breaks the thinking habits of routine teaching and injects newvitality into the Chinese teaching. Therefore it is the promoter of promoting teachers’professional development. Teachers should set up correct concept of public class teaching, buildnatural, real language classroom, let the Chinese public class play the role of teaching andresearch, and thus make it being a new way to promote teachers’ professional development.
