As a special form of communication, body language is an important behavior of non-verbal communication, which has been widely used in human social life. It’s also has special function and meaning, and it is important for transmission and communication. Body language plays an significant role in the class of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, which takes the goal as Chinese culture and language skill. At the same time, it is working on each process and used on pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. This thesis integrated theory and practice, combining with the Thailand teaching experience of writer, based on the objective data from investigation report. And it is also focusing on the using and significance of body language for Thailand elementary level. Vocabulary teaching is the most important part in Chinese teaching for Thai people. It lasts in the all process of Chinese teaching. At the elementary level, body language is an essential and most useful way. It helps to make teacher’s teaching easier, and promote student’s comprehension of knowledge. And it also helps to eliminate communication barrier and enhance the emotional communication between students and teachers.This thesis collected the present situation of domestic and overseas research for body language, and it’s a research from the view of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. At first, it briefly introduced the definition, the states classification, features and function of body language. Secondly, by the investigation such as class notes, communication, and survey from the internship in Thailand, we discussed the usage and importance of body language on Chinese vocabulary teaching for elementary level. And the two parts are also the keys of this thesis. Finally, limitation and attention are showed in this part, and some advice also gave. At the ending part, the conclusions were showed. It analyzed the shortage and deficiency of this thesis, then looked forward the future of the research of body language usage in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
