As the New Curriculum Reform is going on, it requires teachers to be more careful and more students-centered. Usually, teachers will teach students in language, because language is the most direct way to pass information and express emotion. However, teachers will also need body language to assist teaching and express feeling.Body language is a non-verbal means of communication, which suggests, it doesn’t need a word phrase to communicate and communication goes only by a person’s facial expressions, body movements. On one hand, it belongs to language; on the other hand, it also holds some characteristics of the teaching. Meanwhile, vocabulary is the foundation of the language system, which suggests that it is the first and most difficult problem to language learners. Hence, teachers should try all means to help students understand and memorize words. This study is mainly about the application of the body language of teachers in vocabulary classes in primary school according to the theory of Children’s Cognitive Development, Learners’ Affective Factors, the definition, characteristics and classification of the body language of teachers.Based on a research in Si Paifang Primary School, this essay found that it would be helpful for students’ memorizing words if the body language of teachers is applied. Besides, it can also arouse students’ interests, attract their attention and improve students’ participation and enthusiasm in class. Therefore, it is welcomed by a lot of students. However, it also needs more improvement in research and application.
