In the system of classroom teaching of elementary Chinese, vocabulary teaching plays a very important role.It is the main way for students to acquire and expand the vocabulary;the prerequisite for students to learn and understand the text;the important path for students to improve their Chinese proficiency.In the classroom teaching of elementary Chinese vocabulary,the teacher can make full use of advantages of body language, which it is simple,intuitive and operational,and will stimulate students’ interest in learning vocabulary. Based on the theories of educational psychology,the Input Hypothesis and the Affective Filter Hypothesis,with the new HSK4 vocabulary as research material,this paper systematically categorizes the HSK4 vocabulary.According to the author’s internship of teaching practice experience in Thai, combined with the function, scope and characteristics of body language, the paper explores how to play the unique role of body language in vocabulary teaching, trying to provide some new ideas for the effective vocabulary teaching of the classroom teaching of elementary Chinese.This paper is divided into five chapters:Chapter Ⅰ Introduction.It mainly introduces the reason of choosing this topic and background, the research goal and the significance, the innovation, the content and method of the research.Chapter Ⅱ The Theoretical Basis and Research Review. First, it clears the basic concepts of body language. Secondly,it introduces the domestic and foreign literature review about body language. Finally, it explains the theoretical basis of body language use in vocabulary teaching.Chapter Ⅲ The Application of Body Language in Vocabulary Teaching. Firstly, it clears the feasibility and applicability of body language in teaching vocabulary. Then, the new HSK4 vocabulary is taken as an example to classify the vocabulary and make specific instructions on how to use body language in vocabulary teaching. Finally, it makes a summary of application of body language in vocabulary teaching.Chapter IV Case Analysis of Body Language in Vocabulary Teaching. Combined with the practice of teaching examples to Thailand, this chapter further demonstrates the application of body language in vocabulary teaching and puts forward some matters needing attention in the practical teaching.Chapter V Conclusion. It summarizes the article, and it is a teaching reflection in view of the insufficiency of this paper.
