Sports and health curriculum is an important part of the school curriculum, is an important part of the nine year compulsory education, is the education and improve our juvenile physical health education important for young students. Sports and health knowledge theory as an important part of physical education, sports and cultural knowledge, is dedicated to teach health knowledge teaching. For students to learn the related knowledge of sports and cultural knowledge, health and hygiene, plays a very important role in sports and health for students to form correct cognition. This paper mainly adopts the methods of literature, questionnaire, mathematical statistics, interviews, logical analysis and other research methods, combined with the domestic and foreign research and reference of previous sports theory courses of health knowledge, according to relevant provisions of the state combined with the Jiangsu Provincial Junior High School,24 junior middle schools in three areas of Jiangsu Province, Jiangsu in South of Jiangsu, Jiangsu conducted a survey on the current status of teaching knowledge of sports and health courses.This study through the investigation and analysis of the present teaching situation of Jiangsu Province, junior middle school sports and health knowledge of the theoretical course of Junior High School of Jiangsu province sports and health knowledge theory lessons, teachers, teaching contents, teaching methods, teaching evaluation five aspects:The creation of knowledge of sports and health courses:1.Theory of the motion of opening is more common, other courses quantity decreases with the degree of economic development to reduce the number of open class, the higher grade showed a decreasing trend;2.Teachers in 15% professional theoretical PE teachers, their professional knowledge in general;3.Arrangement of teaching contents with the degree of economic development to reduce the decreasing trend;4.The teaching method with the increase of the degree of economic development diversification;5.The assessment of learning effect by different examination mode, and accounts for the physical examination were low.There are sports and health knowledge theory in the teaching of the problem:1.Set up situation in Jiangsu Province, junior middle school sports and health knowledge theory course is not ideal, but less;2.Physical education teachers lack of professional theoretical knowledge, lack of specialized school sports and health knowledge theory teachers;3.The teaching content is relatively narrow, no unified textbook;4.The teaching method is single, lack of interest;5.Teaching evaluation methods lack of systematic teaching, students’ learning and teachers are not optimistic.Through the investigation and analysis of cognitive status of sports and health knowledge, the theoretical teaching of teachers and students shows that:teachers and students most of them think that the creation of sports and health knowledge theory course is necessary; Teachers and students are more willing to accept the knowledge of sports and health courses.In view of the above problems, this paper puts forward the following suggestions:To further improve the understanding of the knowledge of sports and health courses;To improve the knowledge structure of teachers, improve teachers’ theoretical accomplishment;Ensure the sports and health knowledge theory class;The selected teaching contents of physical education and health knowledge theory course;Improve the health knowledge and theory of sports teaching methods and means;Improve the teaching evaluation system of physical education and health knowledge theory course.
