Current society pays attention to older 3 s ladies, especially female doctors, after them, the female graduate students become the women of widespread concern in the community. Because of the expansion of graduate enrollment, the proportion of female graduate students increases so much that they gradually are becoming one of the representatives of women in contemporary society. In humans’ consciousness, self-awareness plays an irreplaceable role in their socialization process. The author chose the female graduate students’self-awareness as the topic, not only in the interest of the current hot topic in society, but also taking into account the great social significance of itself.The author uses the method of literature,questionnaire and interview, analyze the level and content of self-consciousness of female graduate students of an university in Nanjing City, found the positive and negative aspects of it, analyze the influence factors of it from the social psychology, symbolic interaction theory, feminist theory and the theory of socialization, and put forward the corresponding development measures from the perspective of education.The author used the Tennessee Self Concept Scale 3rd Edition as the questionnaire, chose female graduate students of a university in Nanjing, and surveyed 233 of them. Using SPSS 19.0 conducted descriptive statistics and mean comparison, the results are as follows:The overall development level of female graduate students’ self-awareness is good, and its distribution in ten factors is relatively concentrated in the middle level;In structural dimensions, the self-awareness of female graduate students scores the highest, the self-experience of them scores the lowest;In content dimensions, the ethical self and family self of female graduate students score relatively higher than physical self, psychological self and social self;The self-criticism of female graduate students scores relatively lower than other factors;In the projects of higher scoring in female graduate students’ self awareness, the proportion of reverse scoring projects is relatively large;Female graduate students’ self-awareness are significantly different among different regions, different mother’s educational background and different profession.According to the conclusion of the questionnaire survey, the author interviewed 12 female graduate students. Though the collection and analysis of the content, the conclusions confirm and complement some of the conclusion of the survey. Based on the above research, the author analyzed the factors affecting female graduate students’ self-awareness from three aspects: the individual’s own internal factors, the relationship between the individual and others, and the social and cultural environment. And also put forward some proposals of the development of female graduate students’ self-awareness from four aspects: family education, school education, social education and self-education.
