With the continuous development of the information age and the constant improvement of the modern equipment in schools, more and more video resources are used in the junior high school history teaching because that it has visual image, rich content, a large amount of information and so on. The application of video resources in the junior high school history teaching not only conforms to the concept of new curriculum but also meet the characteristics of junior high school physical and mental development. It can stimulate students’interest, enhance students’ability of understanding history, develop students’critical thinking skills, and sublimation students’emotions, attitudes and values. At the same time, it can also improve professionalism of teachers. Overall, it has important theoretical value and practical significance.This issue use empirical research by questionnaires and interviews. The object of questionnaires and interviews is students and teachers in No.29 middle school of Nanjing. The issue is divided into three parts. The first part is theoretical research. This part Combines with the new curriculum reform philosophy, education, psychology and other related concepts, and analyses the meaning of video resources in the junior high school history teaching. The second part is Empirical research. It investigate the video resources’application status of junior high school history teaching by questionnaires and interviews to find out problems and analyse the problems.The third part is the section about practicing and design. This part is researching that how to exert the video resources’application of junior high school history teaching. Otherwhile this part is about application evaluation and reflection. This part noted the limitations that exist in the application by reflection.
