《Comments on historical figures in and out of China》 (shortened form:the elective module on figures in history) is one of the six elective modules in senior history courses, which is a compulsory course where the writer works. This module takes up a certain proportion in the entrance examination of Jiangsu Province, which is about 10/120. How to take effective measures to solve the teaching problems in this module under the background of the new curriculum reform is a problem facing every history teacher in senior school, which is worth researching.This article is divided into three chapters. The first one mainly analyses its major contents and educational values in this module.The second chapter deals with the current teaching problems in three aspects, that is:the repeated contents with the compulsory books; the teaching style of echoing what the books say and the methods of evaluating the historical characters.The third chapter is about the writer’s attempts to explore some teaching strategies regarding the problems of this module by presenting an example 《Sun Yat-sen-the pioneer of democratic revolution》, which should include:First:introduce the contents of "comments on historical figures" by teaching the compulsory contents. By analyzing a period of class, the writer puts forward a way to cope with the repeated history knowledge.Second:By using a period of lesson, the writer makes an analysis of how to make the best of various resources more flexibly in a bid to achieve the teaching goal and promote the teaching efficiency.Third:To solve the problem that the students cannot grasp the method of assessing the historical characters scientifically in the process of teaching this module, the writer takes Dr. Sun Yat-sen as an example. The writer summarizes three basic ways to evaluate historical figures. In the meantime, the writer concludes by self-practice several points worth paying attention to about teaching this part...
