Forgiveness can be conceptualized as a person’ negative status towards an offender disappeared and positive status appeared. In human activities, forgiveness has an important effect on relieving the interpersonal conflict. Many studies have found that personality, empathy, interpersonal relations and cognitive style factors all have close relationship with forgiveness, especially pay attention to the role of empathy. Therefore, forgiveness also is conceptualized as a person producing a series of empathy to offenders. Forgiveness will be restricted by reality situation and personality traits. For the shaping of the personality traits, the role of the family is important; parenting style can subtly influence the development of children’s personality. But, for the potential impact on the study of the variable is relatively less, combining forgive and family education, and discussing advantages of parenting style, are good for the individual growth and cultivation of forgiveness. Therefore, to explore ways of parenting style effects on forgiveness has the value and significance of reality.This study emphatically discussed the relationship between Forgiveness and parenting style and the mediating role of empathy for high school students based on revising the Forgiveness Scale and the Forgiveness Likelihood Scale. We ask 450 high school students to report the parenting questionnaire, empathy questionnaire and forgiveness. Last collect and analyze the dataThe results of this study as follows:1 Revising original scales, The Forgiveness Scale has three factors:Absence of Negative, Presence of Positive and Consciousness of self good state. The Forgiveness Likelihood Scale has two factors:the internal damage of forgiveness and external damage of forgiveness. Two scales had good reliability and can be used to the study2.2 For high school students, the level of forgiveness is good.3 Forgiveness has significant differences on gender, comparing with women, men are likely to forgive others, there was a significant interaction effects between empathy and parenting style in Presence of Positive.4 There is a significant positive correlation between scene forgiveness and forgiveness likelihood. Sympathy and emotional warmth of parenting style are significantly positively related to scene forgiveness.5 Empathy plays a partly mediating role in the relation between emotional warmth (father) and scene forgiveness. Empathy also plays a partly mediating role in the relation between emotional warmth (father) between and scene forgiveness. In addition, empathy plays a completely mediating role in the relation between emotional warmth (mother) and forgiveness.Based on the results of this study, the author thinks that we should pay more attention to the strength of parenting style when we ask students to study hard. Combining the family education, forgiveness and empathy training is good for the development of students. On the one hand, to improve the quality of moral education activities and empathy training at school, on the other hand, we can propagandize the important of parenting style and optimize the means of family education to build a harmonious, democratic, warm family atmosphere. Through the principle of "forgiveness" to improve the level of students’ forgiveness and their mental health, create a harmonious campus.
