Investigation And Research On Children 's Sports Training Market In Hefei City

With economic growth, people have increasingly posed higher requirements for life qualities. While government has increased several accesses and constantly issued new polices for the public to undertake exercising, the market still cannot satisfy needs of trainees and parents, especially teenagers and children. Therefore, in Hefei, children sports training institutions at various levels have sprung out and training market has entered its early stage. Hefei Regulations on the Management of Sports Market, issued by Hefei Municipal Sports Bureau in 2001, points out all business activities involved in sports programs should obey the rules. Regulations specify its supervision scopes, requirements on application and approval, approaches of operation and management as well as legal liabilities. Through questionnaires, on-site investigation and interviews, the author conducted a field research about parents of trainees, coaches and training institutions in Hefei, collected how parents of trainees assessed training market in the city and their motivations to attend sports training. Furthermore, the author got a rough clue about whether the hard wares and soft wares, such as operation qualifications, site facilities, teaching faculty, could meet market demands, government rules and operation principles. As the research indicates, children sports training programs in Hefei include: badminton, ping-pong, basketball, tennis, football, swimming, sports dance, martial arts routines, free combat, taekwondo, wengchunkungfu, karate and so on. Many of the programs are provided in small or even private training institutions without any approved certificates or licenses. Large sports training clubs and children sports schools do not offer complete programs for the subjectively conscious demands of parents. In addition, inadequate control of government has also contributed to considerable problems in children sports training market in Hefei. Based on 6 sports training institutions in Hefei, namely, Hefei Hongqiong Sports Training Center, Hongdu Wuhuan Sports Dance Training Center, Nawu Feixiang Sports Dance Training Center, North Branch(Luyang District) of Hefei Children’s Place and MaAnShan South Road Branch(Baohe District) of Hefei Children’s Place, the paper commences the study with 235 questionnaires on students, 150 on parents, 36 on coaches and 12 on managers of training institutions.The findings are revealed as follows: government lacks supervision upon sports training institutions in market and some small institutions operate beyond control, numerous private and unqualified training institutions have emerged and thus caused disorders of children sports training market in Hefei; swart competition, unregulated pricing orientation and unauthorized charge arouse in the market; training institutions operated mainly on leased sites and could not meet the demands of parents and learners; managing personnel structure and sections design are irrationally allocated in training institutions; insufficient ad teams and unitary ways to publicize in training institutions; no professional R&D team for curriculum and training courses are decided by coaches; coaches are majorly part-time, young, less educated and inexperienced; the institutions have not established assessment systems for coaches and cause unqualified and inexperienced trainees to enter training market.The research aims to offer references for the authorities involved to drive stable and healthy development of children sports training market in Hefei.
