The development and application of curriculum resources, which was considered as a major research project, was put forward in the New Curriculum Reform. A larger number of experts, scholars and frontline teachers are all keeping eyes on it. Whether we can realize our great dream of the new reform of basic education curriculum depends on the development and application of curriculum resources. The effective development and application of high quality resources can improve teaching efficiency as fully as possible. One of the traits of politics, which is a course studied by high school students, is related to the current affairs. Thus the updates of curriculum resources have to keep pace with the time. Therefore, it requires that teachers who teach high school politics should be good at developing and applying all kinds of curriculum resources. Teachers should realize that text books are not the only curriculum resource. Teachers should go after the diversity, flexibility and territoriality of curriculum resources. There are many kinds of curriculum resources. Local curriculum resource is one of them. It is the natural, ecological and cultural resources of that region. It includes the local geography, local customs, traditional culture and production and life experience. Nujiang Lishu Autonomous Prefecture is located on the southeast of Yunnan province, which mainly populated with minorities such as Lishu, Bai, Nu and so on. A large number of unique national culture resources came into being from their local production and life. It is a potential local curriculum resource for teachers in Nujiang Lishu Autonomous Prefecture. Local curriculum resource can enrich teaching contents and stimulate students’learning interest. In addition, it’s good for the unity of ethnic groups and the development of minority culture. So far, there haven’t any local teaching materials for primary and middle school students. At the same time, as for applying local teaching materials, there are still many problems such as teachers, who teach physics, have a weak sense of applying local teaching materials, and cannot make full use of it. What’s more, there are few policies to support the development of local teaching materials. Thus I choose such a topic to research. Here is my research work:the necessity, current utilized situation and utilization strategy and so on. I try to come up with some suggestions for the combination of the local curriculum resource with high school politics teaching.
