An Analysis Of The Application Of Social Work In The Care Of The Elderly In The Community

According to census data released by the National Bureau of statistics show that the elderly over 65 years in China has reached more than 137 million, accounting for10.1% of the population.and the number of elderly population in China will reach to437 million,accounts for about 30% of the total population by 2050.Endowment problem will be an urgent problems in the coming decades,and under the traditional ideas of the Chinese home based family pension is the mainstream of China’s pension.Community is the elderly ’s main activity place and living space.With the growing of the age and the body’s aging,the elderly demand for community services gradually increase,having more and more dependent on the community.Community elderly day care centers for community life cannot provide for oneself completely,takes care of everyday life and disability, the elderly meals, personal care,health,leisure,entertainment and so on daytime foster service facilities. This is a new mode of community home endowment service.This study combined the quantitative and qualitative research methods,which picked out the community elderly day care center staff and community residents in Jizhou District as the research object, through questionnaire survey and case interview,so as to have a certain understanding of the situation in the community elderly day care centers.The study found that so many problems existed in the running of community elderly day care centers,such as the shortage of professionals,insufficient resources,problems,lack of evaluation mechanism,the resident’s attitude to the community elderly day care centers and so on.the research has discussed the influences and restricts of the further development of the community elderly day care center,and also the main problems are analyzed under the framework of professional social work under the framework based on the related concepts,methods of social work, skill as the foundation, trying to carry out the intervention of social work service. Finally, facing the sustainable development of the community elderly day care centers. The research provide positive Suggestions from three sides, which contained the establishment of the values,skills and methods, strengthening the cooperation and the establishment of system and so on.
