The literary value and teaching value of The Earth Altar and I written by Shi Tiesheng have attracted public concern in both literary circle and teaching circle since it was published. Afterwards the prose was selected as the teaching material of Chinese language in high school, which was the first work of Shi Tiesheng that been selected as the teaching material. Nowadays frontline Chinese teachers teach the prose in their different ways. What do they want to convey to students nowadays? How to check the validity? What is the core value of The Earth Altar and I? My essay is trying to explore and solve those problems. First of all, this essay summarizes the analysis of related literature interpretation. Besides, I collect 5 versions of Chinese language teaching materials and teaching reference books covering The Earth Altar and I and try to analyze and compare the teaching values they presented according to the unit compilation, the introduction of the unit and the exercise after text. Last but not least, I summarize the teaching strategies according to text interpretation, Chinese teaching material, case study and so on. The first chapter briefly describes the recent analysis of The Earth Altar and I in literary circle; the second chapter is the comparison and analysis of 5 versions of Chinese language teaching materials. The third chapter analyzes the relevant teaching cases. The fourth chapter is the teaching strategies for The Earth Altar and I and its similar articles.
