Huo Maozheng is our country’s first special-grade teacher and the pioneer of Chinese education teaching reform. She is famous for the reputation "generation model" as well. Huo Maozheng devoted her life to the education in the motherland. Her thought which is worth of the next generation’s further study and research flashes the light of wisdom and embodies the flame of innovation. This article aims to summarize her Chinese teaching thoughts from researches so that first-line teachers can be provided with not only the train of thought, but also a mind for their own teaching.The full text is divided into three parts:the introduction, the main body and the epilogue. And the main body is divided into three chapters.The first chapter discusses the formation and development of Huo Maozheng’s Chinese education thought. The formation of Huo Maozheng’s Chinese education thoughts is closely associated to the social trend and the family environment. Huo Maozheng improved herself during the stage when the society was awaken from ignorance. The great revolution of the society provided Huo Maozheng with a golden opportunity of developing her career. And the cultivation of good family environment encouraged Huo Maozheng to strive forward constantly. This chapter is divided into five stages:stages in germination, the formative period, the thinking period, the perfecting period, the sublimation period to explore the development of Huo Maozheng’s thought of Chinese education. Huo Maozheng’s thoughts had been gradually developed and perfected during these five stages.The second chapter analyses the main content of Chinese education thought, including the concept of Chinese curriculum, the concept of Chinese teaching materials, the concept of Chinese teaching and the concept of teachers and students. In terms of Chinese curriculum view, Huo Maozheng put forward the nature of Chinese "unite literature with principle" and the purpose of Chinese education "cultivate socialist new". In language teaching material view, Huo Maozheng emphasized that the Chinese teaching material should be compiled on the basis of the national education policy and the needs of social development so that the compilation of textbook can be scientific, reasonable and well-organized, and conform to the students’physical and mental development. In the approach of Chinese teaching. Huo Maozheng put forward the Chinese spelling thought that students should master Chinese characters and forms, build up the idea of creating misreading and misspelling hospital; the Chinese reading teaching thought that teachers should teach earnestly, practise more, organize the text reasonably and attach great importance to the blackboard writing; the Chinese writing teaching concept "writing material is from life, writing skills are from the text and oral composition form should be advocated". In the concept of teachers and students, she loved all kinds of students and treated all students the same way. She not only encouraged and rewarded students, but also inspired them to participate in activities. And as a responsible teacher, she looked forward to the improvement of all students. She also encouraged teachers to show the true meaning of love by making practical action like herself.The third chapter summarize the current enlightenment of Huo Maozheng’s Chinese education thought which contains the construction of Chinese course, the compilation of Chinese teaching material, the methods of Chinese teaching and rebuilding the relationship between teachers and students. In terms of the construction of Chinese curriculum, it is concluded that we should strengthen the "double-base":basic knowledge and basic skills, pay attention to the development of ability and strengthen the humanistic education. In terms of language teaching material compiling, she advocated various teaching material and reasonable arrangement; Huo Maozheng advised teachers follow the basic law and try to be people-oriented; choosing a good text which was high-quality both in its words and gist was vital as well. In methods of Chinese teaching, it is concluded that teachers should teach pronunciation, meanings and shapes of words seriously and observe and write earnestly. In the reading teaching, teachers should have clear targets, cling to difficult and important points, use proper methods, think highly of training in many aspects. The teaching job needs thematic explanation and teachers should strength the inspiration and guidance. Making elaborate blackboard writing can help students identify, understand and memorize easily.Meanwhile, it’s important to know that writing needs importing from life to find the source of writing. Being independent to make interesting topics and getting writing methods happily from books is a sound writing way for students. Huo Maozheng suggested teachers evaluate reasonably and construct the platform of correcting mistakes with each other. In the concept of the relationship of teachers and students, she thought that teachers should respect students, communicate with them equally, understand them and think from their sides.The epilogue shows the idea that Huo Maozheng’s thought of Chinese education has practical significance. But due to the particular background and personal limitations, Huo Maozheng’s thoughts of Chinese education have some shortcomings which are mainly reflected in the boundary of love. The next generation of scholars need to criticize and absorb her Chinese teaching thought to find the way of education with its own characteristics.
