Pragmatics and Chinese teaching are closely related. What Pragmatics discuss is the use of language communicative effect, which is the communicative meaning formed in the actual context that the language is used in. Generally speaking, what Pragmatics discuss is the process of the use of language, while the nature of Chinese language courses is to study the use of Chinese language words and the essence of Chinese teaching is to adopt the students’ability of understanding and using language words, therefore, the applicaion of Pragmatics in Chinese teaching can bring a new perspective and sturdy theory, and then the effectiveness of Chinese teaching will be enhanced.For a long time, reading teaching, the body part of Chinese teaching, is guided by the semantics, lay emphasis on the teaching of language knowledge and ignore the analysis and the application of Chinese language words. Therefore, Chinese reading teaching gradually show the malpratice which causes various problems such as ineffective teaching or lack of teaching efficiency recently. The reading teaching model have already cann’t adapt to the requirement emphasized by New curriculum reform that Chinese teaching should train the students’ability to understand and use language. Pragmatics as a subject of the study on language use conform to the requirement. It will open a new situation for the Chinese reading teaching, if Pragmatics is combined with the Chinese reading teaching.Based on the former study and combined with the comprehensive analysis of the scope that Pragmatics research and the reality of reading teaching, the whole thesis is elaborated by three parts, that is Introduction, Body part and Conclution.Introduction It states the reasons and the research value of the thesis, summarizes the research status of the field and points out the concept of research.Chapter 1:Summary of Pragmatics. This chapter firstly makes chief introduction of Pragmatics, and then analyzes and combs the research contents of Pragmatics.Chapter 2:Summary of the research that Pragmatics is used in reading teaching of middle school. This chapter firstly states the motivation of practicing Pragmatics in reading teaching in middle school by introducing the feasibility and the value of it. Secondly, this chapter introduces the idea of practicing Pragmatics in reading teaching in middle school. Finally, this chapter introduces the strategy of practicing Pragmatics in reading teaching in middle school.Chapter 3:Case analysis of the application of Pragmatics in reading teaching of middle school. This chapter chooses two texts The New Year Sacrifice and Thunderstorm from Chinese compulsory textbooks of high schools published by Jiangsu Education Press and make instructional designs of them by practicing Pragmatics, in order to confirm feasibility and validity of practicing Pragmatics in reading teaching in middle school.Conclusion:To conclude the value and significance of the thesis and point out it’s shortage and the direction in the future.
