The possibility of students’ sports activities risk is significantly increased in junior middle school sports activities. As we all know, sports risk perception directly impact on the students’ risk identification and risk behavior. In view of the above situation, this paper is based on the theory of management, school physical education,psychology, culture, sociology and other related subjects and used questionnaire survey method, expert interview method, mathematical statistics method and logical analysis method to study the risk perception of junior middle school students’ sports activities in Western China by comparing the geographical culture, regional culture and sports culture in different regions of China, and the southwest region of Kunming city as an example, the northwest region of Xi’an city as an example. Each city choose 8 middle schools includes 24 classes. To compared with the students’ sports risk perception and sports participation behavior, as well as the influence factors. The conclusions are as follows:(1) This paper completed the questionnaire on the risk perception of physical activity of middle school students on the basis of defining the concept and theory of sports activities and tested the reliability and validity of the questionnaire. The reliability of the questionnaire was good, and the requirement of psychological measurement was achieved.(2)There are some obvious differences between different student groups by investigating, analyzing and comparing the data of the middle school students sports risk awareness, sports participation and the influence factors of sports risk perception.Xi’an junior high school sports risk awareness level is higher than the junior high school students in Kunming, but there is a big difference between the sports risk awareness of the two male and female students in Kunming city.(3) In order to improve the physical health of junior middle school students in our country. We can improve the risk awareness of junior middle school students’ sports activities and reduce or even avoid the occurrence of risk accidents in juniorhigh school students by exploring the relationship between the risk perception of physical activity and sports participation in the two places.
