The purpose and significance of this study is to find out the problems existing in the experimental teaching process and to analysis of its causes and to discusses the lab teaching methods in Dongchuan District so that teachers can find out the improvement method of physics teaching quality in Dongchuan District. This study surveys eight middle schools in Dongchuan, Kunming city about the physics teachers and students through the literature research, observation and questionnaire survey methods. Teachers in the survey include:(1) to investigate the school laboratory, experimental preparation rooms, equipment rooms and standardization of experimental instruments configuration situation;(2) to count the physics teachers treat physics experiment teaching of cognition, attitudes and views in the investigation of teachers in proportion. To investigate the learning motivations of middle school students in physics learning and the understanding of the experimental teaching and the proportion of the students in the survey of the number of students. Based on the results of the investigation, the reform measures of experimental teaching are put forward, and a case study in middle school physics teaching is given.Through investigation and research, the author draw following conclusions:(1) in Dongchuan District, Kunming City, most middle schools in the laboratory equipments and other hardware equipment has been equipped with the basic standards, but part of schools’ experimental instrument rooms and preparation rooms still in the combined use of the state;(2) most laboratorial managers are the part-time assistants so they did not reach the specialization and professionalization degree;(3) the attitudes of schools physics teachers who treat experimental teaching and knowledge are not enough, so that students treat the attitudes of the experiment have not paid enough attention. Physics learning motivations are not strong. According to the investigation and study can draw the conclusions, the author hopes that the governments can increase the education investment to improve laboratory configuration and establish a high-quality experimental team; Department of the school to strengthen transformation of teacher education views and independence, cooperation anddevelopment of the University’s experiment teaching resources; increase the strong experimental teaching, and the experimental ability of students of examinations are necessary. To change students’ attitudes of experiments in order to promote the students’ comprehensive abilities; establishing the necessary psychological counseling agencies to eliminate students’ pressure, to enhance learning motivation and learning activity.
