Problem-based learning(PBL) model is a problem-based and learner-centered learning mode and teaching mode which aims to acquire knowledge and skills by problem-solving. PBL model can effectively stimulate students’ interest in learning, enhance their motivation to learn, and develop their independent learning ability, problem-solving ability and knowledge transfer ability. Therefore, it is a teaching mode which is worth to be popularized. The purpose of this research is by studying PBL application in junior high school chemistry teaching and then used examples to analyze the role of PBL mode in junior high school chemistry teaching. By literature study, questionnaire survey, track interview and other methods to study the junior high school students’ ability of solving problems in chemistry learning and the factors that affecting their problem-solving ability. To providing effective help for effective implementation of PBL mode and combining teaching practice to apply PBL mode in new courses, review lessons and experimental courses. The expected achievement is by studying the practice research of application of PBL mode in junior high school chemistry teaching to improve the students’ skills of solving practical problems, develop their thinking ability, self-directed learning ability and communication skills, promote the overall development of students, provide laws for teachers to follow and make the students learn better.
