Biological concepts is the basic unit of constructing biology knowledge system as well as the foundation of the high school biology teaching. “Ordinary high school biology curriculum standard” lays emphasis on students learning biology in the background of the real life and encourages students to have a deep understanding of the core concepts of biology in the process of solving practical problems. Core concepts play a leading role in biology textbook for high school, which is also an essential direction of observing students. After the first round review, it is not hard to find that students fail to master the core concepts. Therefore, it is necessary to use action research to study the second round review. In the second round review in senior three, teachers should adopt core concepts-centered teaching method. Besides, through group cooperative learning, students build core concepts map, systematizing the knowledge. At the same time, students make a comparative analysis between the closely linked and confusing core concepts. What’s more, timing exercises is also needed in the strengthening methods.This survey adopts literature review, investigation, action research method and so on.The paper is divided into the following five parts:Part I: the background of the problem. According to the actual situation of teachers and students, an effective review mode is in bad need in the second round review.Part II: the review of the concepts, core concepts, concept maps and action research.Part III: preparation of the second round review. Guided by the exam outline and its description, this part explains the significance of the core concepts in the second round review. Teachers sort out the core concepts and investigate students’ actual condition so as to decide the relevant review strategies and plan.Part IV: by carrying out the experiment and comparative analysis of the action research on the core concepts in the two rounds of biology review, it is found that the second round review centered around core concepts is of great benefit for students to promote their cognitive structure and their study efficiency.Part V: conclusion and reflection. Hope to improve the effect in the next research. The significance of the research is to open up the front line teachers’ review strategies and provide some reference.
