Education should be reformed in such an information erabecause the development of the modern information technologyhas greatly changed peoples' way of production, life and learning,which, as a result requires peop1es' quality more than ever andbecause the traditiona1 "cope-with-exam" education hasapparently failed to meet the need of the era. This thesis aims toput forward a learning instrument that contributes to theeducational reform and development-network educationa1software and its structural models as wel1 as the methods ofevaluation, depending on the objective requirement of thedeveIopment of the educational infOrmation trend in theinfOrmation era.The thesis is divided into five parts which describes theprocess of producing network educational software and tries tobui1d up a comparatively scientific and integral theoreticalmodels of network educational software development. The firstpart exp1ains that the network educational software which has thecharacteristics such as the learning willingness, cooperation etcis the combination of the teaching-assistance platform on thebasis of the Internet or local area network and the teachingresources database. The second part titled "network educationsoftware is the necessary trend of the development of thenetwork education" analyzes the meaning of developing thenetwork educational software through the perspective of thedeve1opment of the era and the changes of the educationalenvironment in society. That is, the network educational softwareis the objective need of the development of the educationalinformation trend and the qualified education. The third part4titIed "the design of the network educational software" putforward some model of the network educationaI softwareaccording to the requirements of its theoretical basis such asinstruction designing theory, educational psychology,cognitive-psychology. Instruction designing theory maintainsthat educational software should be designed and developedfOllowing the "learning-centered" policy while educationalpsychology shows that network educational software shouldprovide the learning environment of democracy and cooperation,problem-solving learning model and prior organizer strategies,al1 of which are good fOr cultivating learners' abilities and spiritsof creation. Cognitive-psychology's research on attention,memory, image etc provides many lessons on how to design theinterface of the network educational software. According to these,the thesis says that the designing step includes the followingfana1ysis of learning obj ectives, Iearners' characteristics, learningmaterials, design of willingly learning strategies,cognitive-control strategies, feedback, the evaluation of theIearning outcomes, the cooperation environment, the way ofnavigating, database, the way of interaction, and the pictures.The forth part titled "the technological realization of thedevelopment of network educational software" introduces brieflythe ASP, which is the technologica1 support of the currentdevelopment of network educational software. The final part "theevaluation of the network educational software" shows thatevaluation is a very important step during the process of itsdevelopment. Evaluation has its own principle and scientificstandards shquld be set up. It should fOllow the fOllowingprinciples as instructional, scientific, technological, art etc andset up evaluation standards through such respects as the design5of the teaching materials, framework and structure, interface ofus ers.
