This article surveyed portions of chemical teachers in middle schools, and investigated their qualities by questionnaire, discussion, statistics and analysis. Aim to:1 .master the situation of teachers in middle school;2.analysis the practical questions;3.search the model of optimized chemical teachers in middle school, especially in knowledge and ability.Author investigated 175 chemical teachers in 19 middle schools, and gained 169 effective questionnaires, discussed some hot topics with some teachers and take notes.From this research, conclusion as follows:l.the quality of teachers can divides into elementary quality and characteristic quality;2.elementary quality and characteristic quality are linked to each other, and develop together;3.the main reasons lead to defects: outdated education opinions, outdated knowledge structure and incompetent self-study;4.the effective ways is continual education, teaching research, modified coursed setting.
