The curriculum reform of Geometry is always the focus of the concentrations, for the reasons of its different characteristics in various aspects and the corresponding educational values. Diversity in the certification of the educational value in Geometry results in the different methods in dealing with it.This article begins with the purpose of education and the relevant aim of the mathematics education, and illustrates the educational value of Geometry in two aspects according to the particularity of Geometry: as the science and the subject. Effects on the development of the human caused by such educational values are also analyzed in the article.Educational value in Geometry should be embodied firstly in the Geometry curriculum. After reviewing the reforms in the past one hundred years, according to the historic experiences and the above dissertation about its educational value, this article discusses the synthesis of several kinds of the Geometry educational values and their embodiments in curriculum and teaching materials, and argues that such embodiments should accord with the educational goals in various levels, follow the cognitive law of students, manifest its process character and arouse the interest for students in studying Geometry.Several curriculum reforms of Geometry have taken place in our country. From the point view of the curriculum actuality, those based on the traditional value of Geometry education cannot accommodate the development of the students, and do less in fostering the students' quality. Thus a series of suggestions in curriculum structure and learning mode are presented in this article.
