In the new century, there have a curriculum reform of the basic education in our country with the purpose of reflecting the characteristic of the period and China through the new curriculum system. It will make great effort to give children an open, democratic and scientific curriculum. When the new curriculum in chemistry has changed over from autocracy to democracy, from close to open, some problems were revealed in the instructional objectives, the instructional contents, the learning style and the teaching evaluation etc. of the teaching in chemistry. There is a great need to discuss "the open of the instructional design in chemistry" in order to solve these problems. The thesis analyze the connotations of the open of the instructional design in chemistry at two angles of its per se and elements. It put forward an open model of the instructional design called "the conic, planar and kinetic reciprocally model" . The thesis expound the theoretic basis that it needs to open the information and the spirit environment to develop the creative thought of students based upon the development of not only the left brain but also the right brain. Then it put forward the standpoint on the open teaching in chemistry that the open teaching in chemistry is a based on students, recursive and contact teaching. It will help teachers to form the open consciousness in teaching: all of these are for the development of students. These are the basic theories of the new curriculum in chemistry that the instructional objectives should be become many faceted, the instructional contents should be pressed tothe life and society, the learning style and the evaluation style should be made varied. Centering on these theories and combining many examples of the teaching in chemistry, the thesis design the open teaching which include the instructional objectives, the instructional contents, the teaching procedure and the teaching evaluation. It also put forward an instructional model and some instructional strategies of the open teaching in chemistry with the purpose of enriching the theory of the instructional design and supplying a feasible reference for teachers in middle school.
