The implements of distance education to realize opening education network and whole life education system is an important project, which will optimize our country's education resources, promote civil quality, reduce the cost of education and let citizens fully enjoy the right of education. Modern remote education will finally realize a new management mode of self-development education industry by modern information technology and government's supporting.The essential issue of distance education project is the construction of education resources. And this issue has the following four layer meanings. The first one is education material construction, which includes topics such as paper database, courseware etc. And the second one is the construction of course database. The third part is the development of remote education management system. The last one is the development of general supporting system. While the most important parts are the first two, the last two are tool issues. System updating is another important issues as some success cases show.The construction of education resources is the base of education modernization, which requires both patience and system maintenance. The main reasons of this are due to complexity and diversity of education resources that cause people understanding to be different. Then there are different levels and different attributes of education resources arising from these. So it is hard to manage and utilize.Distance education based on Internet and multimedia breaks traditional education's limits of time and space. And it both challenges and gives chance to traditional education. The World Wide Web assumes its importance in the provision of education according to several high profile reports of several countries such as UK and USA.This paper introduces software architecture and related technology to build distance education software prototype model firstly, then builds it according to software architecture, component theory and IBM San Francisco, finally realizes it as our university's real needs.
