The competition in the 21st century is a competition of the national multiple strength, a competition of the citizen's quality. It is an important task of the Chinese basic education to train comprehensive person and improve people's whole quality. The school is the main position to implement quality-oriented education. The head teacher is the essential strength of implementing quality-oriented education. To evaluate the head teacher's work scientifically can improve the management of the school , promote the school to implement quality-oriented education and promote students' all-round development. So, it is the inevitable request that we set up a scientific evaluation system about head teacher to train the talents across the century and improve quality-oriented education .The thesis is about the problems of the evaluation of head teacher's work at present. In order to get some new methods in evaluation of head teacher's work, it investigates and discusses the evaluation of head teacher's work with a combination of thoery and practice and attempts to solve some problems in the evaluation.This thesis includes the following six parts.Part 1: It explains the important meaning of the evaluation of head teachers from their status among the teachers in the school and their function in the student's growing up.Part 2: It analyzes the current situation of the evaluation of head teacher's work and the problems.Part 3: It points out the main bases and principles on the evaluation of head teacher's work. The main bases include policies and laws, the demands of the social development, the characteristics and regularities of the head teacher's works, student's physical and psychological rule of development and the request of the outline of moral education in middle schools . The principles include expansionary principle , self-evaluation-oriented principle and scientific principle.Part 4: It analyzes the subject on evaluation of head teacher's work which includes self-evaluation and others evaluation.Part 5: It summarizes the main content of the evaluations. It includes evaluation on working course and evaluation on the achievementPart 6: It introduces the methods of evaluation of head teacher's work and how to utilize the evaluation results effectively.
