The judgment in teaching composition is an important step in composition teaching. Whether or not it is scientific directly affects the result of composition teaching, and even the students' Chinese study. However, the present situation of composition teaching judgment is much work with little effect, which is embarrassing. This essay will attempt to consider the teaching composition judgment theoretically and seek a practical way out so as to ensure the right direction in which the teaching composition will go and to form a judgment theory to develop students' writing ability, thus leading teaching composition judgment to a scientific way.The essay will first deal with the present situation of teaching composition judgment. Then consider the truth of it theoretically, it is quite different from article judgment, it also differs from try-out of competitive composition or judgment of compositions in exam. It refers to judgment made to students' compositions after reading the composition teaching target and during the process of developing students' writing ability. Thus, it belongs to formative teaching judgment, including judgment, encouragement, communication, etc. When making teaching composition judgment, teachers should follow such principles as appreciation, classification, the separation between marks and comments, as well as student-orientation. The judgment standard should contain "composition itself" and "writing" . At the end, the essay will show a practical way of teaching composition judgment from adjusting psychology-cal interference while making comments on composition, from comments on reformed compositions and from lecturing on reformed compositions.
