Cooperative learning is the classroom-teaching format that is widely used all over the world. From the view of psychology, education, and sociology, this dissertation verifies by integrating many researches in and outside the country on this area that cooperative learning has a positive impact on primary students' study, thinking, personality, sociality and moral character. The five essential elements of cooperative learning: positive reliance, personal performance responsibility, active face-to-face interaction, social techniques, the internal connections among party coursed, are discussed in detail. Their influences on the development of primary students and the mechanism under the influences are deeply analyzed. At the last part of the dissertation the author points out the details that need attention while practicing and some questions that need further discussion.
