Education has been demanded more highly in the new century. "Learning to study" is a worldwide educational slogan with a distinctive character of times. The basis of learning to study is to make students self-determination Study. In the article through probing into the effective strategies of self-determination study in history teaching, the aim is to cultivate students' abilities of creative consciousness and lifelong study.The strategy means the series of concrete ways of solution, which are adopted by teachers to realize teaching aims and teaching purposes.In this article experimental and inquiring ways adopted. The deep research of self-determination study is done in theory and the intention of self-determination study is defined. And the essence of self-determination study is analyzed and tutoring principles of self-determination study are expressed. It is practically probed how to lead students to study independently. To different circumstances and contents of teaching in history teaching, the operating strategies that have different specialties and are good for students' self-determination study are built. Those strategies consist of the operating strategy of class teaching, the tutoring strategy of cultivating students' ability of self-determination study, the controlling strategy of self-determination study and the evaluating strategy of self-determination study.Through teaching practice a series of achievements have been obtained: The knowledge field of students' vision has been widened; The students' abilities of study have been developed obviously; The students' probing ability has been developed; The study results of students has been promoted obviously; The teaching ability and level of the teachers who took part in the research has been developed greatly.The conclusions below have been obtained: The key to carry out self-determination study is to stress students' position in history teaching; The guarantee to carry out self-determination study in history is teachers'educational thoughts and professional qualities; The important road to carry out self-determination study is to exploit curriculum resource in history teaching.In the article, the focus of attention is on the need of students' lifelong development. It is believed that the essential duty is to cultivate students to probe independently, to invent independently, and to create independently. Students will get a solid foundation for their lifelong study and lifelong development through carrying out " Self-determination Study Strategies" above.
