Grade 10 students were regarded as one of most anxious crowds. Targeted grade 10 students in Shanghai, based on previous anxiety-related studies, this research probed the situation of grade 10 students' anxiety and its causes, with the aim of presenting guidance and support to mental health education in high school. Using State -Trait Anxiety Inventory and anxiety cause questionnaire , the researcher investigated grade 10 students from 4 high schools with different kinds.It was revealed that: (1) The level of trait anxiety and state anxiety of grade 10 students from common high school is higher than that of key high school, furthermore, the higher the level of high school is, the higher the level of trait anxiety and state anxiety of grade 10 students from this high school is. (2) No significant gender difference exists in grade 10 students' anxiety, both trait anxiety and state anxiety. (3) It could be predicted that, to some extent, the level of trait anxiety and state anxiety of grade 10 students in Shanghai through factors of parents-children relation, teacher-student relation, fellow relation, learning state, and character trait. (4) The parents-children relations in grade 10 students' family from key high school are obviously superior to the parents-children relations in grade 10 students' family from common high school. (5) Compared with grade 10 female students, grade 10 male students are easily affected by bad fellow relation. But as far as bad character trait is concerned, the situation is just the opposite, bad character trait can causing female students' anxiety more easily.According to the results of this research and previous study of others, an ideal psychological counseling model in high school was brought forward. In this model, psychological counseling should faces students, teachers and parents at the same time; counseling should be divided into 3 levels: developmental counseling, preventive counseling and therapeutic counseling; the grade and school's character should be considered carefully; the status of school psychological counselor in high school should be promoted further. Moreover, this research compared some previous related studies, and discussed factors causing grade 10 students' anxiety.
