Education has gone into the new century , and also moved from the edge of the society to the centre. A series of propositions with slogans of the democratic color, such as learning to survive " , " learning to study "," learning to understand ", " learning to cooperate " etc, indicate that the world education reform has already taken education , democratization of teaching , individualization into consideration, and put people's value , meaning of life in the due position. Reforms of the new courses on basic education have deployed in an all-round way at present in our country. The goal is for the development of Chinese nation, for the development of each student and can only be achieved by abolishing the old structure of the courses and teaching mode, by changing the teacher-student's relationship of traditional autocracy and conformity type into regarding the students as the centre not the teacher-centre, by moving into the life world from the classrooms, treating the classes, students and teaching with a brand-new living, life and ecological view. The core of democratic teaching in teaching thoughts and principle is to respect students, give them subject status, design , implement and examine the teaching activities around the students. So democratic teaching is the development of the era and request of the social progress, and it is also the core spirit of our country's present new courses reforms.The total goal of the quality-oriented education in our country is to center on moral education, to emphases on achieving spirit and practice ability, and to bring up the builders and successors of our socialist cause in all around development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetics and labour education as having lofty ideals, integrity, knowledge and a strong sense of discipline. The ideology and politics lesson is a main channel in middle school for moral teaching. In order to cultivate the students to love of our motherland, to be citizens with social ethics , habits of civilized behavior, disciplines and senses of law, and to help them establish scientific world outlook , views on life and values progressively , we should end the old morals indoctrination and preach, let the moral class return to life and practice, paying attention to the studentsmorals experience and inner occurrence , giving play to the students 'subject function of moral appraise , making morality building by the course of the students self-construction, independently and consciously. So, it is a request for democratic teaching to realize the self-education function of the ideology and politics lesson.Democratic teaching mainly includes teacher-student relationship equality and democracy, giving each student abundant and equal chances to participate, infiltrating the sense of democracy, and cultivating the ability of democracy in the contents of education. It has three characteristics , namely respect to the difference , subject participation and asynchronous development. Democratic teaching acknowledges the difference and individual character , pays attention to the full play of the students principal parts, and makes every student able to get maximum development on the original foundation. The proposition of democratic teaching bases on philosophy , psychology and ecology. One of its philosophical foundation is Marxism theory about people's development in an all-round way. The students' development in an all-round way, freely and abundantly is the most essential embodiment of democratic teaching. The second philosophical foundation of democratic teaching is the theory of post-modernism. The theory of post-modernism affirms the particularity, difference, and advocates the pluralism and variability. It denies impeccable authorities and unalterable courses, advocates teacher and students talk and exchange equally, and puts forward the strong challenge to traditional autocratic teaching mode.
