In our modern society, people are asked to take great responsibility for everything around him while they are given more respects and broad rights and freedom. However, there are many reasons that are from society, family and schools to make middle school students inhospitality and lack of responsibility, and even tend to escape from it. The responsibility education we had in the past was mainly about political responsibility, so we have to strengthen responsibility education in moral subjects to improve students' responsibility trait. And the following consideration show us the possibility, which is the social advantages for strengthening responsibility education, the theory relationship between responsibility and morality in the science of society, philosophy, psychology, the rich resource for responsibility education in moral subject. In order to get a good education result, we need to adjust the responsibility education curriculum guide, ascertain the content of responsibility education , improve the teachers' qualities and reform the teaching methods. This paper is divided into three parts.Part one: the research aspect. First, basing on comparing the meaning of responsibility between China and foreign countries, this part specifies the concept of responsibility and its characteristics. Then, it analyzes briefly the relationships between responsibility and responsibility criteria, morality and so on. Finally, It explains the concept of responsibility education from three perspectives, such as its goal and content and methods.Part two: the necessity and possibility of strengthening responsibility education in moral subjects of middle schools. The necessity is firstly discussed according to social development and present problems among students. And then, this part demonstrates the possibility by studying the social advantages of strengthening responsibility education, the theory relationship between responsibility and morality in the science of society, philosophy, psychology and the rich resource for responsibility education in moral subject.Part three: how to improve responsibility education of middle schools. Basing on the merits and shortcomings of New Moral Education Curriculum Guide 2003 , we suggest to adjust the Guide. Abiding by the standards of content choosing and the characteristics of moral subjects, this part also ascertains the content of responsibility education which is integrated with moral subject. At last, the new requirements to teachers' qualities and teaching methods are explored .
