Abstract: In recent years, many researches find that the adipose tissue is not only an organism which stores energy but also an important endocrine organ, The fatty cell has active secretion function, and it can secrete leptin, Acylation stimulating protein (ASP), sex hormone, insulin-like growth factor -1 (IGF-1) and so on. Many fat oriented hormone plays roles in adjusting balance of energy metabolize through endocrine, paracrine and autocrine ways. And they are also tied up with insulin resistance and cardiovascular disease. Discovered in 2000 by an American scholar, resistin is a peptide hormone secreted by adipose tissue. It is confirmed by animal experimentation that resistin can weaken the insulin effect on reducing the blood sugar. It is confirmed by vitro cell experiment that the resistin may weaken the effect of the cells' incepting blood sugar catalyzed by insulin. Resistin is genically expressed in adipose tissue specifically in rodent. It has functions of weakening sensitivity of the fatty cell, the skeletal muscle cell and the liver cell to insulin. It is obvious that there is a close connection between resistin and insulin resistance, which has direct connection with type 2 diabetes. Many researches support that resistin is an important factor which link obesity to type 2 diabetes. Objective: To assess the effect of TCM compound recipe Yangyin Shenjin and 60 minutes' swimming on the resistin level in serum of rats feed on the high-fat-forage . Method: 80 SD rats (?) were divided into 8 groups, namely: control, hf, hfzbt, hfe, hflm, hfmm, hfhm, hfmme. The rats are raised in a clean animal lab in Yangzhou University. All groups are fed with high-fat-forage except the Control. All groups are poured with water or medicine fluid at certain dose and vol. according to the design of the experiment. Hfe and hfmme groups swim for 60 minutes everyday. After 45 days, take out the blood serum of the rats and determine the concentration of resistin, TC, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C, Apo-A, Apo-B and weigh the weight of the testicle fat pad. Use SPSS statistics software to carry on the statistical analysis. Result: 1) The body weight of the rats in group hf which is fed with high-fat-forage increased significantly compared with the rats from Control group which were fed with common forage. TCM compound recipe Yangyin Shenjin and movement all have a function of preventing the weight of rats feed on high-fat-forage from increasing. TCM and movement joint together have better effect than the TCM or movement used single-handedly. 2) The high-fat-forage make the level of CHO, LDL-C in rat blood serum rise remarkably, TG has a tendency of increase but not significantly (p>0.05), high-fat-forage has no significant influence on HDL-C level.TCM compound recipe Yangyin Shenjin can down-regulate CHO and LDL-C level significantly but has not formed the coordination effect with the movement; Movement can remarkably reduce rats' TG level (p<0.05); The movement and TCM compound recipe Yangyin Shenjin have no obvious influence on blood serum HDL-C level. 3) The high-fat-forage causes significant rise of Apo-A and Apo-B level, the value of Apo-A/Apo-B reduced remarkably. TCM compound recipe Yangyin Shenjin and movement have remarkably up-regulated Apo-A and remarkably down-regulated Apo-B level. Therefore the TCM compound recipe Yangyin Shenjin and movement can increase the value of Apo-A/Apo-B significantly. 4) The high-fat-forage causes obvious elevate resistin level in rats' serum. TCM compound recipe Yangyin Shenjin remarkably reduced the rats' blood serum resistin level. Movement has no obvious effect on Resistin level. 5) The high-fat-forage has no significant influence on the rats' blood sugar, TCM compound recipe Yangyin Shenjin and movement had not influenced the blood sugar remarkably. Conclusion: 1) TCM compound recipe Yangyin Shenjin has significant effect on down-regulating resistin level of rats feed on high-fat-forage.
