In Children's activity area, the method of the material input will decide the success of the activity or not. It is because children will develop through the interactivity with material in that area, it is essential to know the actual material input in kindergarten, the effect of the input and how to improve the input.The paper describes a research on the children's behavior in different material input environment. The research selected amount, the structure of the input and arrangement of the material as three key dimensions to observe children's frequency, duration of material use and their social play behaviors. With the case study, the research gave an overall picture of the actual material input method in the kindergarten, children's reaction to the method and so on. The content included children's negative reaction to the change in material amount, children's creative usage of the material when it was sufficient, children's social play reaction during different amount of material, children's behavior between highly-structured input method and low-structured input method, and the different arrangement of material's influence on children's behavior.From the interview with teachers, it was clear that teachers have some problem during their material input. Besides, they complained about the overwork with the heavy material input assignment. And it was shown that they would input the material on the basis of educational objective-oriented and conflicts avoiding.From the observation, it was shown that different method of material input greatly influenced their behavior. It was true that children would have different reaction if they were at different age. The structure of the input and material arrangement also had impact on their behavior.Based on the result observed, the author discussed the relationship between the methods of material input and children's behaviors. Then conclusions were made as (1)the amount of material was not the only criteria for judging whether materials were enough, (2) conflicts also had positive impact on children's development, (3) whether material was challenging was the key to children's usage and duration toward a material and so on.
