Due to China's typical education assessment system posing during the unique period, China's education has been following the approach of teacher-dominated instruction for quite a long time. It is fairly popular among both teachers and students to judge a student by his scores gained in the exams. Students lack of the sense of collaborative learning and always study in a passive manner. It is of vital essence to formulate the strategic vision " To Thrive China on Science and Education". So far some measures have been strictly taken to innovate the school curricula, which requires creating a student community of inquiry involving authentic communication, cooperative learning, collaboration, problem solving, autonomous and creative learning.Author has critically analyzed the previous literature home and abroad as well as current education situation, particularly the recent research on our collaborative learning, realizing that there is still a huge gap between what we have practiced and that researched in the developed countries. This thesis aims to briefly introduce some famous theories around collaborative learning and also has the objective to comprehensively illustrate some integrated philosophy, considering collaborative learning is sort of complicated study activity. In the thesis Author focuses on the patterns of collaborative learning should follow in different learning situations. Two classes in Senior 1 with the same base have been chosen to be the research targets. Class 6 is considered as the research one and Class 3 is the comparable one. Having done the research teaching without the students' awareness for more than half a year, Author has set up four kinds of collaborative learning patterns and furnished here with specific teaching plans. These patterns are distinguished as: Collaborative learning on the basis of a certain study theme, Collaborative learning on the basis of a certain experiment research, Collaborative learning on the basis of small class streamed teaching, and Collaborative learning on the basis of science research outside classes. Apart from this, evaluation forms are given out to support the students with opportunities of assessing each other aroundcollaborative learning. The results of the questionnaires and relative tests prove that collaborative learning in sorts of patterns has had respective effectAuthor suggests this thesis be practiced in reference on the way of working out the appropriate approaches of collaborative learning in the coming days.
