China's Juvenile Delinquency Community Correction Mode

Nowadays in the transition of the society in China, presenting high-rate tendency and a series of new characteristics, juvenile delinquency has already become a serious social problem worldwide, which needs to be solved urgently. In China the traditional correction mode has been severely challenged under the new situation and can't fulfill the corrective function to juvenile delinquency effectively. The complexity of the cause of delinquency and the particular feature of the juvenile call for the necessity of more scientific and more humane correction modes to juvenile delinquency. Among them, community-based correction is one of practical and effective modes adopted widely all over the world.As a new justice social work field, the community-based correction is still at the initial stage in China, so there isn't a developed mode not only in practice but in theory. As an exploratory study, with the guidance of sociology, social work, law ect, this thesis demonstrated the necessity and urgency to carry out the community-based correction. Then, on the basis of the investigation of some experimental projects in Shanghai and Jiangsu Province, it evaluated and analyzed the experimental mode to juvenile delinquency. Drawing on the experience of foreign countries as well as HongKong and Taiwan in China, the writer probes the distinctive features in China and puts forward a new community-based correction mode which takes justice social work as carrier.
