| In our daily Chinese teaching, what we have done and what we expected are often opposites. We intended to make our students more interested in learning Chinese and help them form the good habit of reading Chinese; however, the results are worrying. Reading plays an important role in Chinese teaching, which can strengthen students' language sense, cultivate their ability of thinking, improve their writing ability and enrich their inner world. By making a survey of students' learning Chinese in middle school, I find that many students have little interest in extracurricular reading because of their being misled by exam-centered education in Chinese reading, single and rigid teaching methods of their teachers, their lack of culture basis, the shock of audio-visual culture and so on. Even though some students practice reading something, they often do it in a passive way, or in a closed way, or in an eager way, or in an aimless way. Therefore, this essay tries to study, from students' and teachers' angles, how to encourage students to tap the latent power, how to lead students into the situation, how to extend curricular reading to extracurricular reading , how to use multimedia, how to make the most of family resources and so on, in order to make students become more interested in reading. |
