In modern times, with the western civilization introduced into China, the blending of Chinese and Western education has been playing the role of a new mode of school education in China. We call this Chinese & Western education blending model. After the establishment of PRC, this education model was continued and developed with innovation in higher education [1]. Since 1990s, with the revitalization of China's non-state education, foreign and overseas education resources have been imported into China and a series of joint venture schools opened with some of them entered foundational education area. This paper takes Maple Leaf, China's first joint venture foundational education school that successfully blends the best of Chinese and Western education as the example in investigating into the history of blending of Chinese and Western education and the practice of Maple Leaf to sum up the characteristics, rules, value and theoretic foundation of the education model of blending the best of Chinese and Western education. At the same time, this paper argues that in China's foundational education area it is possible and necessary to implement the blending of Chinese and Western education, and it is also necessary to appropriately import foreign education resources under the circumstance of China's entering into WTO and the situation of economic globalization. This education model is important in making China's foundational education globalized as early as possible.
