The aim of education is to enable everyone to give full playto his potential talent.And to learn how to reflect so that it cannot only stimulate learners to think about their ownexperiences,but also to improve the learning effect.Performance assessment ,which takes learners as thecenter of the learning process,is part of motive learningstructure.so that it can motivate students to learn further andto self-question. Therefore, Performance assessment , in theform of appraising the ability of the students,has a great effecton the development of the reflection.According to the real situation in teaching biology in seniorschool,I suggest the research subject on " The Application ofPerformance Assessment To The Development Of TheReflection Of Students" .Using the function of PerformanceAssessment concerntrates students'energy and makes themreflect so as to improve the learning quality of students.As it aims at "The Research On The Application ofPerformance Assessment To The Development Of TheReflection Of Students , the passage covers the following fouraspects:Firstly, explain the reflection and performance assessmentbased on the theoretical principles in great details and makesome researches on the development of reflection and on thecauses of performance assessment.Secondly, based on the research results of the evaluationof students at home and abroad,and also the real situation inteaching biology in senior school, I have already done someprimary researches on a) the aims of performanceassessment ,b) basic programs and priciples , c) and thespecific and operative methods , so I would like to proposesome essential methods of how to apply performanceassessment to the development of students'reflection.What's more, organize some practical activities for usingperformance assessment to develop the ability of thestudents'reflection, and carry out the related investigations totest and perfect this plan.Finally, analyse the experimental results and sum up someexperience and lessons so as to motivate the research ofperformance assessment and the development of reflection tobe carried on better.In a word, there are some advantages in the application ofperformance assessment to the development ofstudents'reflection, that is, it takes learning as the centre ofits process;it makes full use of its potential value;and it laysstress not only on the reflections of both teachers andstudents but on the combination of knowledge and abilities;atthe same time, it can be used to assess science and to enableteachers and students to be fully developed. As we can see, ithas incarnated the characteristic of the times in the field of thenew education. Anyhow,not only has the research enrichedand perfected the theory of performance assessment , but ithas provided the useful references for the practice ofperformance assessment.
