Firstly, this thesis discusses the history and the development ofindividualized teaching theory, identifies that the theory is thoughtfuland has been applied in practice. It is presented in two aspects: One isthat modernized measures have broken through the limits of relationbetween teachers and students. It is possible to instruct studentsindividually. The other one is that the research of students' personalityand the social request on students' personality improve the relationbetween teachers and students. Educators pay more and more attention toindividualized teaching theory, however, it develops slowly for lackingpractice. Analyzing the social background, it is necessary to apply theindividualized teaching theory.Secondly, the basic idea in individualized teaching theory wassummarized as following: teaching should centers on the development ofstudents' individuality, based on students' individuality and promoteit. Individualized teaching purpose was made clear by the author. It islearning to survive, learning to concern, learning about cognition, learning to live. The connotation of individualized teaching theory--adoption and comprehension are discussed. Based on the above discussion, the author compares the four strategies of individual instruction. Themerit and shortcoming of four models are pointed out. The theory appliedin mathematics focuses on the relation between cognitive style andmathematic problem resolving. To achieve the aim of new curriculum, wemust promote individual teaching in mathematic.Thirdly, the thesis points out the principle and strategy applied inmathematic class instruction. There are three individual instructionmodels such as researching learning, grouping learning, individualinstruct. Teachers should apply different strategies on different casesin mathematics class instruction. There are two types of students inlearning mathematics: some have talent in learning, the others havedifficulty in learning. The difference between the two types was analyzingability. So the thesis points out that different mathematic classinstruction strategy should be adopted on base of different students. At last, there are some restrictions on practicing individualizedteaching. The lack of education resource and requisition of educationsystem in reality limits the individualized teaching. So We should tacklethe three relations correctly.
