The paper analyzed the features of primary mathematical language andemphasized the importance of primary mathematical language teaching onthe basis of the fact of pupils' learning mathematical language andteachers' teaching language. As to the first fact, it analyzed whatthinking barriers influenced the pupils' mathematical language learning;so far as the second one was concerned, some strategies were brought out. As a language to express scientific thoughts, primary mathematicallanguage has been a popular tool to communicate in modern informationsociety. Whether you can learn mathematics well depends on your abilityof primary mathematics language. The problem is that we don't talk thelanguage in mathematical teaching intentionally. And not enoughattentions were paid to the language problem in learning process. So itis very important to strengthen the primary mathematical language teachingin modern mathematical education. Three aspects influence the pupils' mathematicalthinking------level, characteristic, and capability of language, whichis the media of teaching. Improving the language capability is sure topromote pupils' communication and study about mathematics. However, thepupils have some difficulties in using mathematical language because theyare too young and can't understand well. The barriers in mathematicallanguage learning are identifying, understanding, conversion,construction, operation, organization, expression and so on. Considering the characteristics of primary mathematical language, therelation between mathematical language and thinking, and mentalcharacteristics of pupils' learning mathematical language, a primarymathematical teacher has some principles to follow in teaching. They areaccuracy, preciseness, conciseness, illumination, acceptability,demonstration, aesthetic characteristics. Also he should use languagewell.As to these problems, the paper found out some solutions.1. Strengthen the teaching of understanding primary mathematicallanguage.2. Pay attention to train the conversion of primary mathematical languagemeaning.3. Pay attention to make the introduction of symbol of primarymathematical language natural.4. Pay attention to cultivate aesthetic taste of primary mathematicallanguage.5. Pay attention to analyze the characteristics of primary mathematicalsyntax and train expressing.6. Guide them to read primary mathematics.It is very easy to overlook the reading teaching in primary mathematicalteaching. So teachers should motivate interests in reading primarymathematical language, pay attention to the guidance and illumination ofprimary mathematical language reading and cultivate the capability ofreading primary mathematical language. Furthermore, teachers should askpupils to read and write simultaneously, read with questions and arrangereading time reasonably.
