Since 1990's, the practical value of mathematics raises consumedly, but mathematics education in our country can not keep up with the age development, which is represented by the ambiguity of the mathematics educational aims, by the lack of age characteristics of the content of mathematics education, and by flexibility of mathematics teaching method. At the same time, along with the great process of the quality education, the educational reform, the theme of which is"humanism and general development", is developing fierily. Teaching is the basic composing part of Chinese primary and junior high schools education activities nowadays and is the basic approach to actualize schooling. The teaching reform, therefore, is paid more attention to in the education reform, especially with pushing forward the quality education, the teaching reform increasingly is put onto the schedule.Since the 20th century, the people experienced four revolutions about the theory of study and teaching, that is, behaviorism revolution in 1910s, cognizing revolution in 1950s, humanism revolution in 1960s and constructivism revolution in 1980s.In the behaviorists' opinion, the teaching purpose is to provide the particular stimulation or enhancement in order to cause the particular reaction of the students. Meanwhile, because of the complicacy of the different behavior styles, to induct teaching more definitely, we must detailedly classify the teaching goals, clarify the different knowledge and the conditions of the skill acquisition and teach the students according to the layer and order of the difficulty. In the teaching process, the educators should give the opportunity for the students to react to make their reactions exact.The research of cognizing tries to focus on the teaching according to the foundation of the students' psychology to learn, which makes up the neglect of the inside process of the study in behaviorism. However, it pays more attention to the cognizing of the individual.Humanism mainly focuses on the students. They put it that the teaching should be carried out based on the students to promote the students' independence of learning and self-fulfillment, which helps develop the students' independence and creativity. They put it that the teaching should be carried out based on the motion or feelings between the students and the teachers to create colorful teaching conditions, which is good for the students physically and mentally. But some critics think that humanism pays too much attention to the students' self-teaching, and the students have no great ability to do that. Instead, they need the teachers' directions.Constructivism tries to inosculate the construction and formation of the knowledge, inosculate the students' self-independence and the teachers' domination.
