The National Ministry of Education decided to implement the trial of the new curriculum reform in regular senior high schools from the autumn of 2004, and four provinces in China, namely, Guangdong, Shandong, Ningxia and Hainan, would carry on it in advance. As far as the senior high school reform is concerned, the reform of the history curriculum and textbook is unprecedented. As a history teacher from an experimental school in Ningxia Province, the author tries to devote an elementary discussion on the understanding, measures, experiences and questions of the new curriculum during the trial of the new curriculum in senior high school to further deepen and enhance the understanding of the reform.There are four parts in the thesis. The first part devotes a brief discussion to the background, agent and the guiding ideology of the new curriculum reform in senior high school and points out that the history curriculum reform in senior high school is the most profound one in history from the curriculum standard and textbook structure; The second part makes an investigation on the changes of the new history curriculum standard and new history textbook in senior high school. With the guidance of the new theories, the new history curriculum standard and new history textbook in senior high school have carried on many bold attempts; The third part demonstrates that the history teacher faces the stern challenge under the new history curriculum in senior high school; The fourth part, through the first-hand material obtained from the experience of the trial, discusses some questions in the process of the new curriculum to implement, aiming at testing and providing the optimistic and promotive opinion in time.
