The economical differentiation is a current focal issue in the process of Chinese modernization. It is also a hot topic of sociological research. But most of the previous research belongs to the macroscopic analysis, which has not involved with the direct survey method to describe a small community's resource distribution tendency. This thesis has directly surveyed the economical differentiation situation of a small homogeneouscommunity--Mu Cun. In 2004, the industrial production resultant ofMu Cun is 1.2 billion Yuan. In 2005, its Gini coefficient of poverty-wealth disparity is 0.63. Besides, the author has investigated the process in which the differentiation occurs, and explored the occurrence mechanism of the differentiation.The thesis first describes the community background where the differentiation occurres. Mu Cun has a glorious long history. The historical honor, disgrace, prosperity and decline make the tenacious community memory, and have shaped the current collective consciousness of Mu Cun people. The Mu Cun villagers all belong to Hui Ethnic Minority, believing in Islamism. The united status of Hui Ethnic Minority and the prosperous religious life enable Mu Cun people to have strong collective identity.
