In the 21st century, people of high emotional quotient are needed, which requires us to pay much more attention to the students' emotional development. This is the new subject every educators meet.Emotion is part of the whole education. It refers to the students' attitude, emotion, belief and mood. And it is the course of improving the students' emotion quality in an active and healthy way when the educators teach according to the instructions. What's more, it is also helpful to the development of personal emotion and fine education environment. Referring to the connotation of Maths, the author suggests that Maths emotional quotient should pay attention to three parts: social life, humanistic spirits and students' emotion.This paper refers to the present situation of emotion education in high schools' Maths teaching. From the investigation, we find that most Maths teachers didn't pay much attention to emotion education and didn't carry it out well in the course of teaching. As to students, the emotional quotient of many of them didn't develop harmoniously with their knowledge development. Therefore, the emotion cultivation is greatly needed, which is required by the social and personal advancement.Thus, combing with personal teaching experiences, the author raises the educational purpose of high school Maths teaching, whose main part is to develop students' studying enthusiasm, personal emotion and social feelings. Besides this, when teachers perform emotional education, they should follow the following principles: the combination of leading and domination, knowledge ability and emotional quality, collectivity and individuality. The author also suggests that Maths teachers in high school are required to improve their own qualities, change their educational conception, then inspire and infect the students with passion and love. And they are also required to dig the emotional elements in Maths, activate the class, enrich the extracurricular activities, and improve the way of evaluation, so as to promote students' emotion and their all-sided development.
